In addition to the knowledge, skills, and abilities developed in the Criminal Justice Degree, an emphasis in Loss Prevention and Security will broaden a student’s understanding of loss prevention and security operations. Students wanting to work in private sector careers are encouraged to consider this option for their degree. Aside from the many obvious benefits of private sector employment, the security and loss prevention industries are exciting non-traditional careers in Criminal Justice. Specialty courses for this emphasis include industrial and retail security as well as loss prevention operations. Students can position themselves to earn two industry-recognized credentials as part of this emphasis.
