Program Information

Medical assistants are multi-skilled health professionals specifically educated to work in ambulatory settings, performing administrative and clinical duties. The practice of medical assisting directly influences the public’s health and well-being and requires mastery of a complex body of knowledge and specialized skills requiring both formal education and practical experience that serve as standards for entry into the profession.

Scheduling and Entry Options

The Medical Assisting program offers a full-time day program with courses in the major starting in the Fall Semester. The evening/part-time day program offers lecture classes primarily in the evening with day clinical. Full-time students can complete either programs in two semesters and a summer term. General Education courses are offered both day and evening and it is strongly recommended that general education courses be taken prior to entry into the program or in Fall Semester upon program entry.
