PHY 101 - Survey of Physics Class Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 2 Credit Hours: 3
This course is a qualitative survey of the central concepts of physics with an emphasis on a conceptual rather than a mathematical viewpoint. This course includes concepts from classical mechanics, thermodynamics, electromagnetics and optics. Real life situations and hands-on laboratories will supplement lectures.
Prerequisites: Satisfactory placement scores for or completion of , , , or ENG 165 . Satisfactory placement scores for MAT 102 or completion of MAT 101 , MAT 102 , MAT 103 , MAT 109 , MAT 110 , MAT 111 , MAT 120 , MAT 130 , MAT 138 , MAT 140 , or MAT 170 . All prerequisite courses require a grade of “C” or higher. Note: This course will not satisfy any Associate of Science requirements. Credit may not be earned for both PHY 101 and PHY 200 , PHY 201 , PHY 202 , PHY 221 , or PHY 222 .
