BIO 113 - Principles of Biology I Class Hours: 4 Lab Hours: 3 Credit Hours: 5
The first course in a two-semester sequence for biological science majors. This course is a study of the fundamental principles of biology, including cell structure and function, bioenergetics, molecular and organismal genetics, evolutionary theory, and an introduction to diversity. Laboratory requirement supplements lecture. Note: Title and description designed for articulation through the Clemson Bridge Program.
Prerequisites: Satisfactory reading and writing placement scores for ENG 101 or ENG 103 , or completion of ENG 100 , ENG 101 , ENG 103 or ENG 155 . Satisfactory math placement scores for MAT 102 or completion of MAT 101 . High school college preparatory biology and chemistry or BIO 105 and CHM 105 strongly recommended. All prerequisite courses require a grade of C or better. Note: Credit may not be earned for both BIO 113 and or BIO 105 .
