BIO 113 - Principles of Biology I Class Hours: 4

Introduction to biology for biological sciences majors, emphasizing the fundamental principles of biology including cell structure and function, bioenergetics, molecular and organismal genetics, evolutionary theory, and an introduction to diversity. Laboratory requirement supplements lectures.
Prerequisites: Satisfactory reading and writing placement scores for ENG 101 or completion of ENG 100 , ENG 101 , or ENG 155 . High school college preparatory biology or BIO 100 and either high school college preparatory chemistry or CHM 100 .
Note: Credit may not be earned for both and BIO 113.
